Our R44 HB-ZJL is sent for overhauling

Valair Maintenance AG – licensed for Robinson helicopters R66 Turbine, R44 and R22

At last, the HB-ZJL, R44 Raven II has achieved 2,200 hours of flight time and is thus due to be sent for a complete overhaul, as per the manufacturer’s requirements. Our EASA Part 145 certified maintenance organisation puts us in the comfortable situation of being able to work with our own team, all of whom are, of course, trained Robinson mechanics.

Dismantling of HB-ZJL for overhaul by Valair technicians

The complex process starts with the disassembly of the entire helicopter. All parts need to be properly labelled and documented. Components that need to be serviced at the manufacturer’s factory are sent to America by air freight.

In the meantime, the mechanics continue to work on the airframe where the latest instruments are installed, the interior is replaced and paintwork is redone etc.

Over the next few weeks, you will find more details posted here about the overhauling process and how a practically brand-new helicopter will be presented at the end of it all.
